I would like to introduce myself to our community.  I am the the Commandant at Western New York Maritime Charter School and am very proud to be working with our students and our staff.  I attended the State University of New York at Geneseo and earned a Bachelor's Degree in English/Education.  I taught English at the high school level in Pennsylvania, Illinois and New York.  I have four children who have made me very proud by each completing their own degrees.  Through them I have personal experience dealing with community colleges, private colleges and public colleges.  I earned my Master's Degree at Canisius College in Educational Leadership and have taken graduate courses in Educational Administration at the University of Buffalo.  I have served as a high school administrator in private, public and charter school situations.  My experience in education has given me great joy as I see our young people explore their options and begin their journey toward adulthood.

Here at Maritime I am very impressed with the dedication that our teachers have and the professionalism with which they approach their jobs.  They give 100% to helping our students obtain the education that they deserve.  Our teachers want our students to be as ready as possible for life beyond high school.  Our students are here as young people learning that character, education, leadership and excellence all matter. I am very impressed with the pride I see in our students - the way they wear their uniform, the cleanliness of the school, the concern for grades.  I see our cadets participating in community service, in week-end activities, and in many after school activities.  Best of all I see that our cadets are concerned for each other.  They care that each cadet knows the success of academic effort and the pride of being a member of NJROTC.  I have also had the pleasure of meeting many parents who share the belief in the importance of academic effort and integrity.  I look forward to serving all the members of the Maritime community and sharing in the success of our graduates as they enter college, the service, or the work force knowing that our program prepared them well for their futures.

If I can be of service in anyway please don't hesitate to contact me either by phone or email.  I look forward to working with you and I thank you for the privilege of working with your children.
